    AMD Athlon 64 3200??

I was looking at the requirments for BF2 and it is recomended to have a 2.4ghz CPU but is that for PEntium 4??

The reason i ask is all people keep saying is how AMD is alot faster and i am going to upgrade from P4 3.2ghz to
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Retail CPU, 939 Pin 2.0 GHz 512KB Cache

My question is will the AMD one give as good a performance as my current P4 cpu

Oh yes...probably even better performance, even at stock speeds.

If you overclock it, even MORE so

yes the 3200+ is probably about the same performance as the 3.2ghz in regular tasks. but in video games there is no question the 3200+ smokes it. especially if you overclock . its a good buy, and I play bf2 very good.

as for menace, first off make sure you get a socket 939 mobo , and dont use your old pentium one.

secondly, you do not need a special mobo to overclock, but some ARE INDEED better than others. you do it in the BIOS. realy, the 3200+ is better with an OC but still very very good without it.

as for Need 2 Kill, that sounds like a problem with the BIOS. I would have told you to update to the latest bios and you probably could have run at stock.
