I was wondering whats the best motherboard I could get for under $200?
I was looking at these and was wondering everyone elses opionins

I would say the DFI SLI-DR Expert, if you plan on overclocking, and know what you are doing. It may be over some people's heads though.

well... if you just want a sockt 939 ATX mobo, you dont need two PCIe slots, and if you do choose between crossfire (ati) and SLi (nvidia.)

there are plenty of good, plain sockt 939 ATX boards. especially nforce 4 ones.
as jimmy said, the dfi expert is good for overclocking, but pretty intense. there are also other DFI boards that are very good and less expensive.

this is a small list, there are plenty more. the MSI neo4 platinum is a great one!

of the two you posted, the first one IMO is better.

Or if you are like me who isn't even using 1/3rd of the capabilities of his mobo...get a cheap good name brand 939 non SLI.

Do you need SATA2?
Do you need 2 video cards?

Anything over $100 for a mobo is wasteful unless you plan on using its features specifically, or it's a new model with fancy fans/heatsinks.

Do you plan on using SLI?

I would buy an SLI board even if you dont plan on doing SLI. If you buy an UltraD and someday hardmod it to an SLI mod your still going to have to buy an SLI bridge which pretty much makes up for the price gap.

I thought you no longer needed a bridge with the current drivers.

Im not 100% sure you do but I thought at one point there was a performance loss when you didnt use it. I would always use it though, there must be a reason its there.

You don't, but there is a fairly massive performance hit on higher end cards.

depending on the card etc.

the 6600, doesnt even have a place on the board for theh bridge because it doesnt even use all the bandwidth of the PCiexpress bus. the bridge starts being used on the 6600gt series and up.

you can take it out and it will still work, but you will get a performance decrease. (maximum pc did an article about it they have benchmarks and everything.)

the only things the forceware 80 drivers did was make it so you can A. use cards with differenet clock speeds. B. different manufacterers. c. different memory size. and D. different BIOS.

C is incorrect, as far as I know the cards have to have the same amount of mem.
