    Oh and to find your type of memory you probably need to hit google or some hardware forums and put the exact model and revision number into the search.

    Twinx ram could be any number of different chips, and judging off the newegg reviews this ram is only mediocre for overclocking. Your best bet is loosening the timings or running a divider, or both.

        Allow the ram frequency to be increased to at least 230MHz.

          woa ^, okay thanks. so, how? like why does it do that? also, what about other timings, its 2-3-3-6 now, so if I made it 2.5-3-3-6 would that theoratically still work?

          also, TW, on that program, which things do I enter in where, to calculate it, and what is reference clock?

            Reference clock is your FSB... put in 250 and enter your multiplier and CPU divider speed and you get the results.

              okay thanks, using the program i figured out a equation that ALMOST is correct

              nvm i was wrong

              thanks, but also i made you, why does inscreading tcas to 2.5 help and do i need to increas the others?

                Low latency puts more stress on the ram, higher latency will allow you to reach a higher FSB.

                I would personally raise your timings to 3-3-3-8 (probably the loosest you would want to go) then see how far you can OC. I wouldnt be suprised at all if you can reach... lets say 230mhz on those timings. But this is all academic until you start running some benchmarks, you very well could get better performance at DDR380 with tight timings, over loose timings at DDR480 for instance... its all going to depend on how high you can push your CPU.

                  I tried that equation TW posted manually, and I tried and retried. the first time, it didnt give me the correct speed instead of the speed its GOING to be, it told me the regular DDR speed.

                  the second time I did it (with different numbers) it was wrong...

                    I've never used a program. Check out this ram table to get familiar with frequencies: http://oskarwu.myweb.hinet.net/A64Divider.jpg.

                    With memory timings info, you'll want to google something like "A64 memory timings." There's around 25-30 with AMD's memory controller, some being very important.
