Same fps if all settings are either high or low

Alright i got
p4 3.0 GHZ
1gb ram ( gonna upgrade soon)
nvidia evga 7900 gt ko
100 gb maxtor sata hardrive
450 watt antec psu.

If i run bf2 on all high or all low i get the same fps. :cry:

I have all drivers and installed and up to date too.

I will get like 30 fps all high then i try all low and go to same spot in same server and get same fps.

I don't have a clue whats wrong

this isn't your problem as much as it is EA's. BF2 is a rather buggy game, especially with the graphics.

If I'd got the same FPS at low as at high I'd be glad :). Anyway, yeah, BF2 is quite buggish ...

is Vsync on in your drivers?

Yes, first thing would be to disable vsync.

Already disabled vertical sync and didn't fix it.

There was a bug mentioned months back about FPS being locked at 33 or 66...I'll have a look 'round.

EDIT: ok..try deleting your cache

Delete this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Alright i'm going to try that and how do you display fps through bf2 console and not fraps?? I feel like im getting like 45 frames but fraps says like 30 but it could just be me. :)

renderer.drawfps 1

Seems to display same fps as fraps and deleting cache folder didn't work

game.lockfps 0

Also, are you running a CRT or LCD monitor?

You may have to update your LCD display drivers or mess with refresh rate.

LCD monitors are known to have this sort of odd effect on BF2. I'm still CRT so if your problem is LCD related, I'll likely be of little more help

I'll go try to find my lcd drivers on the site and the game.lockfps 0 didn't work.

EDIT: SOny.com says " * There are no software updates or drivers currently posted for this model. "

What about www.windowsupdate.com .. does it give you any driver updates for your monitor?
