Help...

Okay so I have had a bunch of stuff on my computer since day 1 of getting it (pc world ) anyway I want to know what they are or are for and if I need them, I know googles there but if anyone has any experience with any of these programs that would help.

Taken from add/remove programs:

Sorry...but unless I knew if you had hardware that depended on those apps, the only way to find out would be to uninstall. But it doesn't appear so. Maybe the modem...

I'd uninstall all of them to be honest...but that's just me

Alright I'll look around more, but knowing PC world, they usually put alot of crap on the PC.

Yeah...and since none of them sound important, I'd say go for it

Windows Installer seems like it is from Windows Update though...but some spyware could try and use that name.

Well I found out that the X10 thing is for turning a light on and off from your computer using wireless, A. I don't have wireless and B. lol.

So that was deleted, anyway I have another problem. I want to unninstall some more games, so I look at the unninstaller and it says its missing :|.

Is there a way to unninstall games without using the ADD/REMOVE or the unninstaller.exe in the base of the game folder. I mean I suppose I could just delete the folder but I think that would screw something up not unninstalling properly.

You can just delete the folder but it wont remove reg entrys and the like. If you cant unistall something due to a weird error like that try re-installing it first as daft as tha sounds.

If the game doesn't have an uninstall shortcut in the start menu, and you don't have an entry for the game under Add/Remove Programs, then you would have to check the support site for the game in question and see if there is a manual uninstall option.

You'd have to delete some registry keys. If you don't want to do that, then delete the game folder and then use a registry cleaner, but some registry entries will likely remain..but won't hurt anything.

And yes, as the above poster has stated, re-installing should give you the option the uninstall...which SHOULD do what you're looking for.

If I unninstall some of my games and delete alot of stuff then defrag, will this make BF2 faster, in loading times etc?

Also if you have the unninstaller for D3/FarCry then maybe you could send me it. It got deleted with the GRAW unninstall.
