wats the next step up from a 7600GT?

is there like a small step up (nVidia) from the 7600GT...cuz i currently have a 6600GT in this machine (AGP) but if i make a new one... i dont think im gonna get a vid card right off the bat to save money and so i can get a better one later... i was planning on getting the 7600GT but wats the next card up? not too far up... i need it under $300... or $275..

The way I understand it your building a new system? If so you probably shouldn't build a AGP based system. You would be limiting yourself.

However a 7800GS would be a step up, is about $300, and AGP.

no..im saying that i have AGP in this computer w/ 6600GT... w.e.... i also wanted to know if there would be a big change in the FPS with a 7600GT PCI-e instead of my 6600GT AGP...

Oh ok, next one up would bt the 7800gt. Yeah huge diffrence between 6600gt and 7600gt.

7600Gt = all high @ 1280x768 (with 1.5GB or more of RAM) if 1Gb of RAm, textures = med rest high.

yeah, 7600gt is equivalent to like a 6800gt and is a very very good card (dont worry). next step up is also a 7800gt, which is another very very good card, but you can find one for the same price as a 7900gt (I believe) so yeah ^_^.
