and it looks like the psu is a crappy 1 its some random Q-Tec 450w dual fan psu.
id be willing to bet that that is the problem (the PSU that is)

id recommend buying an Antec TPII-550 to replace it

Me too, the PSU is the backbone of your system. Dont skimp on it.

get 2gb of ram and the problem should go away, as my pc lagged out and suffered from low FPS with 1gb and it wasnt even on high as u said!

that will def. help but i dont think that is the root of the problem . i have 1GB of ram and a 7800GT right now and i play on the highest settings with an avg FPS of 55-60. he should not be that low at all .

I'd contact Nvidia about that one, no offence to people here but sometimes its easier if the manufacturer can tell you whats wrong, so if it stuffs it up you can say they told you not some guy on a forum.

For a time I ran a 3200+ stock, 6600GT and 1GB of ram, on a mix of medium and high details no AA and got 60+ FPS. This is probably a driver issue, a format would not hurt.

i have a coolmaster 450 watt psu, and its working fine so far. I got it for 30 dollars on newegg. (it was on sale.) So i dont think its because of the lower budget.

lol, nice income flow. Where you getting the cash? your gfx card is like £230 and RAM + Power supply thats still £100-200 or more.

btw if you get your gfx card fixed to your standard, tell me how good it is, ratings etc.

well, did a total reformat this afternoon and its made no difference at all... dont even know whether to bother getting new ram, i think its because im on a socket 754 and it can run in dual memory mode.
my motherboard has a cpu port and i have the board which turns it into a 939 and then i would be able to run in dual memory mode but i really dont have the money to do that yet.

btw i dont have a good income flow at all, im a student :)

if anyone one else has any ideas i wouldnt mind hearing them, im just about to give up i think

I have the specs in my sig, and tonight I was getting low 20's and 30's in Sharqi on the 64 player =HIT= server. Every other game runs 100% fine, its just BF2. I think there is something wrong with the game since the 1.2 patch.

PS: I just got a 7979 on 3dmark05 with my lower summertime clock speeds. This seems to be a BF2 problem, not a hardware or other kind of software issue.

yeah i think i agree, ive been playing Quake4 maxed out with no problems, CoD2 maxed out, farcry, NFSMW, GRAW. BF2 is the only game i have problems with :|

Yeah, ever since the patch I have had terrible frame rates. Before it I NEVER dropped below 40, and it averaged about 70. I tried playing it with the lowest settings and I was still getting drops into the 20's.
