Does anyone know if it supports dual monitors? In the back there is one DVI and one analog. If I was to use the analog for the second monitor would it work? Also, does analog have less quality then dvi? So should I use dvi for the the one that games will show up on and the second monitor will use analog?

Of course it will work! On an ordinary screen, the analog will be pretty much the same as a digital one. But once you get over 20 inches, i recommend DVI.
To use two monitors, you'll need (you dont need, but its very effective) a program that makes an extra task bar on the second screen. The best program for this is Ultramon. .
This is only a 30 day trial, but msg me on xfire: snowcontrol, and ill see what I can do for you.... -
Re: 6800xt support dual monitors?
You can do dual monitors no problem, DVI is for LCD screens, if your using a CRT there is no quality loss because the technology is inherently analog to begin with.
With a LCD text and overall image quality can really take a hit on analog, using digital it will frankly be a night and day sort of difference in most cases.
If your using identicle LCD screens in dual mode, you will be very dissapointed because one screen will be crystal clear and the other will be a little out of focus.Comment

Re: 6800xt support dual monitors?
Well, I sort of have to use analog because there is only one output for dvi. I'm buying [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16824163115]. My clan mate said it is good. So I will have dual 17" LCD screens. I will be playing games on the dvi monitor and I will use dual monitors for animation, photoshop and things like that. Will I really notice a huge difference? You make it seem so bad but I want to be sure.Comment

Re: 6800xt support dual monitors?
Its up to the particular person, and the particular monitor. Some monitors offer reasonable analog performance, others suck balls.
Also check if your monitor even has an analog input, some dont. (PS your link doesnt go to a particular model so i have no idea which one your getting)
Basically a DVI-I port found on a video card can output Analog or Digital, but a VGA (blue port) is analog only.
CRT's are analog only with VGA for the overwhelming majority (a few use DVI but those are rare professional minitors)
LCD's are naturally digital, but come with a mix of VGA only, VGA and DVI, and DVI only. Usually an LCD ships with a DVD-D (digital) connector so that it can only interface digitally, you cannot use an adaptor to connect a DVI-D to a VGA port for instance....
anyways i hope im not confusing you, but basically make sure you have a VGA port on your monitor, and realize that its going to be up to your eyes and the quality of your monitor. Me personally?, i wouldnt do it, all digital or bust personally.
The best LCD's have digital connectors, i would diswade anyone from buying an analog LCD.
You could if you have to pick up a PCI video card with DVI for a few bucks if you find the image quality too poor.... use that as a fallback.Comment

Re: 6800xt support dual monitors?
If I buy a cheap PCI card to use as the second monitor it will recognize the dual monitors and have seperate desktops and such?
Will something like this work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102447
That video card will handle images and videos on premiere, photoshop and maya and such, right?Comment

Re: 6800xt support dual monitors?
yes it should, also it seems the brand of monitor you picked is analog only, and from some random manufacturer that is not very well known. (im scared and running for the hills as we speak)
I would recommend a digital reputable brand personally.Comment
