Backing up my DVD?

I tried to copy my BF2 DVD and reburn it to another disc. Thought all was going well. When I tried to launch the game using the new copy I got a message saying please insert installation disc? Any ideas what I did wrong or what I need to do. My original copy is startign to look pretty ragged.

you should be ashamed of youre self you now that againts copyright law....nah just foolong there.

the dvd is protected by starforce or somthing similar,this prevents a direct copy being made,

how ever im 99%sure there is a thread on this forum somwhere detailing the steps to creat a harddisk image which can be used to load the game,

i think a app called alchol(maybe wrong name) can create the image you need.

just incase you do have SF you can use that disk to load up the game aswell.

just keep a eye on you thread im sure someone with proper experience will give all the correct details.

If it were Starforce I would never install it on my PC. It's Safedisc 4. You can use Alcohol 120% or CloneCD to backup your copy of BF2.

What you need to do is stop using your disc to play and get Daemon tools. Download a mini image from gamecopyworld for BF2, mount it, and play with no actual disc.

Anyway, on-topic:

Make a backup using any software you like, but you're better off using Alcohol to make an image or download a mini-image and mount with Daemon Tools as has been suggested.

I remember someone mentioning that before. Is there a short tutorial for that? Is that like an emulator or something along those lines?

thanks for clearing it up i was close but not as accurate as you,yet i new some one would come and state to correct facts,cheers.
