    I need a new headset

I bought a pair for $30 and thinking they were good because they are Plantronics, one ear side is about to break off and the slide thing to change size dosnt hold anymore. There is also alot of crackling when flying a jet.

    any good?

Go for a set of Sennheiser, sound quality is amazing and the things are nicely build.

i'll vouch for Sennheiser, second set i confess but nice quality. A tad expensive compared one on one with the competition but i do love em. Planetronics i think represents a brand name purchase rather than a quality purchase although thats just my opinion.
Crackling is generally down to dodgy cable since the consumer market isnt worth the extra penny for decent wire. Also caused by clipping if you have the volume turned up high on the headphones or pc. Also caused by bad solder causing loose connections or more usually easily worn connections within the unit or mini jack.

Plantronics it thought were good but the quality on the plastic that holds everything isnt very stron.

^ Yup, Ive found plantronics, well the audio 90s atleast to sound good but have bad build.

Ive heard good things about Sennheiser though. I think its a safe bet to buy them.
