Is 7900 gt better than 7800 gt or vice versa?

Hello, i'm a new member in this forum.i'm planning to buy a new graphic card for BF2 and i want to know which card that gives a good FPS if i set my graphic settings to high?

well there are a lot of factors, CPU speed, RAM and video card are the main ones.
lets say you have a god CPU, and at leastm a gig of ram, all you need is a 7600gt. but a 7800gt would also do, and a 7900gt is much better than a 7800gt.
but to get good smooth gameplay at high settings I would definitly get two gigs of ram.

2 gig ram (1gig,512mb and 2x256ram),80 gig hard drive, 3.0ghz comp.Nvidia geforce 6600 256 mb pci e.

If you can get the 7900

if not then go for the 7600

Get the 7900GT if you can.

I have a 7800GT with 2Gigs of RAM and I run my games all in High settings at 1680x1050 Wide Screen resolution with an average of 70 to 99 FPS.

You'll be happy with the 7900GT I wish I had one but I just bought a 7800GT few months ago and I love the card.

The 7900GT is a little faster plus has 4 more pipes (24) vs 20 pipes from the 7800GT. Correct me if I'm wrong.

2 gigs of ram+a 7600GT should be able to play it on all high, but if you have the money definetly get a 7900.

7600GT
7800GT
7800GTX = 7900GT
7800GTX 512
7900GTX

Any reputable 400+ watt PSU. Antec, enermax, Forton, ocz, sparkle, seasonic are good brands to look at.

Your going to want good 12v rails as well.

Along with the graphics card I would suggest dropping the 2x256 and 1 512 sticks of RAM for an identical 1gb stick. Youll get dual channel mode if your motherboard supports it, which most do. You wont have to worry about the lowest common denominator when it comes to memory timeings either.

Im running on a BFG 7900Gt and it plays all highs get one if you can
