    Headphones Problem.

    Hi,
I use to use a headphone plugged in at the front of the PC and the mic was plugged in at the back.
I have recently got a headset that includes the mic.
They both get plugged in at the back of the PC and the speakers moved to the front.
Anyway, here's my dillema: I had a Trojan Horse on my PC and Norton didn't stop it as it was a brand new threat! So I had to totally reinstall Windows and install everything again. Now, the Mic on the headphones don't work when plugged in at the back.
I have gone to the output section and spoke into the mic nothing, I then shouted and it registered as one or two bars out of about 30. I flicked the mic and it shot up to the top.
I therefore know that they do work but the setting are all not correct. I can't hear anything either.

So...How do I get my headset and mic to work again when I plug them into the bak of the PC?

I have reinstalled the Software for the Audigy 2. I did hear off someone that I needed to reconfigure my output settings but I don't know how!

Sorry it's a confusing read, really need help though as I use Vent and Voip alot.
    Thanks.
Anyone know, I have updated this.

    Re: Headphones Problem.

Open the Surround Mixer and under REC, make sure it is set to Microphone and not "What you hear". Also click the little red + under REC and make sure the 20 db mic boost is enabled.
