    Does anyone use SLi??

In the next few months i plan on upgrading my video card. My choices are either buying antoher 7600gs(which i have right now) or i can use the step up program from evga to run in my current card and get a better on buy paying for the difference; making a 7900gt $200. Ive heard that 2 7600gs's perform as well as a 7900gt, so i wouldnt want to pay another 100 for the same performance. But i dont know if bf2 is a game where it really takes advantage of sli. If anyone uses sli, please inform me on your experiences.

Seriously though, pay attention to what I do in the coming month. You'll get to see if sli works or if you think it's worth it after all I've gone through. I'm certinally hoping so.

Im not shure if I made the right decicion. I got an A8n-sli mobo for around 115$ and dual Nvidia gforce 256mb 6600s for 100$ a piece, rather than opting for a single card in the 200 $ plus range. I have been very pleased with the performance but have rather little to refrence with. But hell 2 has to be better than 1............. right?:)

SLI is for future upgrading in my mind. Buying 2 cards from the start isn't practical.

I would say get the 7900GT, then when that cant run games properly get another one. that should keep you going for ages.

Then again i could use the stepup thing from evga to get a 7600gt for around $50 because itll be awhile before i can fork up another $200 for the 7900

To be honest, it's not really a viable upgrade path, so either get the 7900gt or get both 7600gt's at once.

I used 2 x 6600gt's and they were good and i now have a single 7800gt and to be honest i still feel the 2 6600gt's were better in most games.

im still a little nervous with SLI as if you go on the nvidia forums theres alot of people moaning and complaining about it!

Better to get one good card, less that can go wrong.

7900gt, plus they arent even 7600gt's they are 7600gs's, with DDR2. anyways defiitly go with the 7900.

                        Re: Does anyone use SLi??

SLI sucks. I got 2x 7900 GT clocked at 520/1500 and i don't get amazing framerate. I play at 1600x1200 HQ and my fps is in the 40s most of the time on 64 playermaps. I even see dips down to high 20s sometimes. That says alot about SLI.

I am using the latest drivers too.

Hmmm. Thought I was one of the only ones. I've been pumping money into my computer since doing sli hoping to find the bottleneck and finally get the peformance i need. I'm contemplating buying a new processor but I dunno yet. It's $320...
