    Laptop

I am thinking of selling the following to get a new laptop:

    eMachines W2047 Desktop:
AMD Athalon XP 2000+ 1.66GHz CPU
    256MB DIMM RAM Memory
    ATI Radeon 9200 Video Card
Creative Sound Blaster PCI512 Sound Card
Balance Digital Technology 17" LCD Monitor
    eMachines standard W2047 Keyboard
Micro Innovations IOW 2200UP Wireless Optical Mouse
Micro Innovations VCI Wired Optical Mouse
eMachines standard W2047 2.0 Stereo Speakers

    IBM ThinkPad 701C Butterfly Laptop:
    all standard stuff +
IBM 1095 Credit Card-size Thernet II Adaptor (PCI)
    Linksys WPC11 802.11b Wi-Fi Network Adaptor (PCI)

    Acer America Extensa E610CDT Laptop:
    all standard stuff +
    U.S. Robotics USR 5410 802.11g Wi-Fi Adaptor (PCI)

and half my CD collection which totals 250 Compact Discs (the half of which I am sellign are all legit originals, the other half are also legit originals with backup copies incase I break the discs)

what exactly are BF2's supposed minmum requirements?

I am thinking of getting a laptop with the money I save up (preferably with a DVD+/-RW drive, DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo if not possible) so that I can clean up desk space, play/research etc. while I'm on the toilet and take with me on vacation trips/grandparent babysitting

are there any laptops (preferably 2004 or newer) that can run BF2 that are UNDER $1400?

EDIT: when I say "can run BF2" I mean can run BF2 with SF and EF, I dpn't care if it has bare minimal Audio and Graphics as long it can run it

    top 10 so far:

    01, Acer TravelMate 8103wi
    02. Lenovo IBM ThinkPad T43
    03. Lenovo IBM ThinkPad T42
    04. Lenovo IBM ThinkPad R51
    05. Winbook V120 Laptop
    06. Acer TravelMate 4502LMi

      Re: Laptop

All you need to do is look for a laptop with a 6600 or X1600 GPU or better. That one you listed with a 9200 wont play BF2 very well at all. It might run it, but itll be choppy so you'll get your ass kicked online repeatedly.

It only has a 40gb HD and 512mb ram. Otherwise its good. My sony has that switching the graphics card off thing, and i use it all the time.

you can configure it to have like 1-2 gb and more than 160gb hard drive.

also, make sure you can get it with a 7200 rpm HDD. If you don't, the extra RAM for loading isn't really going to help you much.
