G15?

I know this is a pretty stupid question, but I am wondering what the benefits of using a Logitech G15 in BF2 are. Obviously it tells you ram usage and all taht. are there mods available for it that are specifically for BF2. in short, what makes this keyboard good for BF2?

I would guess the ability to prone spam from what I've read in related forums. The G15 has programmable macros that bring back for some, the glory days of dolphin diving.

Yup, there's an app out for the G15 that lets you keep track of either over all scores or your own score plus vital stats (grenade counts, kills, deaths, clips remaining, etc). It's been OKed by EA.

Can't find a DL link ATM, but fire up google 'n hunt. There's also a thread 'round here someplace that I know contains a link.

Well one G15 is letting me type to you right now, so thats a big plus.

There are a huge number of mods and so forth that are not directly related to BF2. Now dont get me wrong it has been a while sence I went looking for BF2 goodies. But the largest appeal of this board is got playing MMO's.

However having the LCD screen on the keyboard, and downloading FRAPS allows me to keep an good eye on my average FPS over time. That's way nice.

Warning! My roommate picked up a G15 about 3 months ago and already some of the keys are waring through. The paint is coming off and his nicely backlit keys are starting to look like blue blobs.

Meanwhile, My Saitek Eclipse (bought about the same time) still looks factory new. I haven't seen much info about this drawback, so I figured it might be a good idea to bring it up.

There was alot going on about this in Oct? or Nov? when they keyboard shipped. However, logitech SAID they fixed it and thats why there were very few available for the Christmas season.

I must say, had mine sence Mid Janurary, and it still has perfe.... where the hell did the C go?

I have had one since they came out and, while the macros are nifty keeno, I like the third party app for Tesmspeak so you can see who is talking, when you are talking, when people join/leave, etc. and the BF2 app that shows, among other info, the server information (IP, ping), player info, game stats, etc. and the ability to hit one button to cycle through.

I also like the feel of the keyboard and the backlighting. I'm going to send my back to logitech to get a replacement since one key is wearing. However, if a key is wearing out you probably know where the dang this is already.

Talk to Logitech, I have heard that some poeple have gotten replacement keyboards for paint wearing off.

I just bought one today, and I have a one problem that I know of, since this is as far as I 've got.

1)Install software - didn't get prompted to plug in keyboard like it said I would - waited - plugged it in anyway;
2)open up Browser -hmm where to start?
3)Loadup BF2/Controls Panel - ESC button doesn't work, can't reassign Keys?

I looked for some threads about the ESC key but didn't find anything, any ideas?

I just got my G15 the other day and haven't had a single problem with it.

I <3 my g15 too :) wonderful keyboard, and paint wearing off is covered by logitech. Wonderful keyboard.

Ive heard most people get a replacement no questions asked for the paint thing, some dont even have to send their old one back.

lol kind off topic but I had a standard keyboard and the ''WSAD'' keys were no more.
