different tempature question.

i saw the other thread about video card temps. i was curios as to if my system is running ok at it's current tempatures (entire system, not just gpu). i see everyone mention the tempature of their pcs under celcuis not farenheit. my case has a temp gauge on front which is in farenheit and is usually around 80 to 90 degrees idle and the most about 110 degrees when playing bf2 on everything high for a while. are these acceptable temps. i've talk to some people and heard conflicting things. i was told that i could up around 125 degrees farenheit before worrying about it others have told me lower. i'm gonna buy 2 new case fans soon which should help.

my specs are:
aspire x-plorer case (80mm fan in top and back)
amd 64 3700+ (stock fan/heatsink)
asus a8n-e
450w cooler master psu
evga e-gforce 256mb pci-e 6800gs (fac oc'd 490/1100)
2gb corsair value ram (4x512mb)
250gb sata 7200 rpm drive
160gb sata 7200 rpm drive
sb audigy 2 5.1 soundcard

i haven't had any problems with performance or the game but i'd like to make sure i don't. if it's to hot or getting to hot i'd like to take care of it now. thanks in advance.

110 F isn't bad at all, but that's your case. You'll have to find out what your CPU and GPU temps are.

how do i find that out. also what temps should the gpu and cpu be at. the temp wire inside the case is against the heatsink of the processor. the paperwork with the case said to put it there for the cpu temp. it probably not the most accurate reading.

For your GPU you should probably have a temperature tab video card settings. If you want to see what it's running during gaming download a program called NVTempLogger. Idle should be around 40-45C, and under load I think 65-70C is acceptable, they can take more heat than the CPU. On the CPU generally idle can range from like 30C to 45C depending on your cooling, and under load you should want to keep it under 60C. If you have the temp probe against the heatsink you're gonna get pretty lower readings than it really is, I suggest using software. The only way to get good processor readings from a probe is to place it between the heatsink and core, which can be a real pain to do it right.

thanks for the help. i'll try that later tonight (at work now). if it is getting to hot what suggestions do you have for lowering the temp. like i said before i'm gonna add 2 more case fans which should help but what else can i do if that doesnt cut it. thanks again.
