Just decided to up my BB to 8Mb Wireless, wondering if anyone can firstly recommend a good Network Card for Desktop don't mind either PCI or USB, secondly if anyone is aware of any serious issues with BF2 wireless gaming?

All advice is, as always greatly appreciated, thanks!

Router is a BT Voyager 2091.

I recommend a cable :) While there are plenty of people playing on wireless connections, you'll hear about many more problems with wireless over hard wired connections. If you have no option other than wireless, get the best card you can afford...I'm not really hip to what's best, I'd look for some gaming realted reviews of wireless cards.

Router is a BT Voyager 2091.

I've never experienced any problems playing wirelessly, either on internet games or LAN games.

I use the Linksys 802.11G and it's solid as a rock.

In theory you introduce some additional capacity for latency when you play over a wireless network. Your mileage may very considerably depending on your equipment, your network, your walls, etc.

Regarding connections, I've had nothing but bad luck with USB wireless adapters. I'm sure there are good ones and I'm sure most are fine, but I think a PCI card is the way to go for networking.

I also swear by LinkSys at this point. I've used Lucent, Netgear, and D-Link stuff and the most recent generations of the LinkSys products have been winners in my opinon. That said, I'm a big believer in sticking with one manufacturer for as much of your wireless equipment as possible. While it is all built around a standard, incompatibilities do exist and you are much less likely to run into problems if you stick with one brand. So I would buy whatever card is the same brand as your router/access point.

Also agree on staying AWAY from USB wireless.

I use wireless b with no problems 95% of the time as long as my connection strength is very good or excellent.

I have my Linksys wireless G base one floor down and about 20 feet over. It has to pass through a wall, a floor, and another load-bearing wall, before it gets to my USB adapter, and I get 90-95% signal strength all the time, and never had a problem online gaming. That's just my experience :) USB 2.0 helps a lot too.

Thanks, eventually got a Belkin 802.11g + and a BT Voyager (Free from BT), seems to work ok, getting a few connection drops here and there when playing BF2 but generally ok... when it's playing it absolutely fine, only issue is connection droppping.
