No where on the windows, there is a transformation pack too, and there are some releases here and there but your best bet is the transformation pack. Been delayed to 07 unfortunetly :p DX10 here we come.

            Re: Windows Vista

basically your video cards with dx9 will work with vista, here is a basic list of things you CANNOT do if you have a dx9 card with vista:

you MAY NOT (depending on the card) be able to run vista's 3d interface to its fullest

you CAN NOT play any direct x 10 games

            you CAN NOT use HDCP.

but you CAN run dx9 games and CAN do everything else

              Re: Windows Vista

              hmmm interesting...

              sorry another question...
do they have any dx10 cards out right now and if they do what would an exquivolent card be to my 7800gt and price?

              i currently have

              amd 3200
              2 gb corsair 2336 (4X512)
              asus sli premium board
antec true II 550 sli psu
              xfx 7800gt
              160gb seagate barracuda sata

im thinkin around vista time ill build a HTPC with my amd 3200 and i guess my xfx7800gt (since its not dx10) even though itall be overkill

upgrade my existing pc to an amd x2 3800 (price reasons)
              and get a dx10 card

unless i can hack it with the 7800gt on vista

              what do you think?

darn...also do you think the 7800gt is a bit over kill for a HTPC?

ill have to start saving immediatly

                    That is not correct.

-A modern DX9 gamer card will run the 3d interface with 100% of its "glory" *cough* A nvidia 6200 turbo cache may or may not... im not sure, but the better cards will for sure.

-You can play any Dx10 game that is written in both DX9 and DX10. Highly doubtful outside of Halo2 (marketing) that any game for the first 1-2 years of vista will launch without DX9 support.

-You can use HDCP. A few cards already ship with it, namely the Sony HTPC box and a few ATI cards.

-Lastly your correct, you can do pretty much everything else.

DX10 cards should be out sooner.

I believe (don't quote me on it) the G80 will support DX10.
