i always wondered, if the info is stored in the server... and you have to activate it in 30 days.... how do you activate it without internet. because I KNOW there are people and computer with windows xp without internet. how does that work? just wondering, it doesnt pertain to me.

You have to call a Microsoft CSR and they will validate it and give you a code.

Its more than 3 times, ive had to re-install it 4 on this pc here, just crashed again 2 days ago. Lucky i keep regular backups! :)

well wait lets clarify. if I get windows xp oem (1 copy), can I successfully install and validate it on two different computers?

edit: not that im going to do that of course, im just wondering for eudcational purposes.

also: IF the answer two my question is "no", what about windows media center edition OEM or professioanl x64?

No, no, no.

After 120 days with no hardware changes you might be able too, not quite sure about that though.
