          That is pretty high for that model. The problem with pulling the heatsink is that it is held on with a thermal adhesive, not just a thermal compound.

          If you could find an aftermarket cooler for that model it would still not be worth it-- the cooler will cost close to if not more than half the value of the card itself. If couldn't get the heat down with a reasonable amount of (inexpensive) effort I would just eBay it and buy a new card.

            My Sapphire X800xl AGP sometimes reaches 91-92C when running 3D the memory chips are so hot you could burn your fingers touching them. When ide about 55-60c.

            Im beginning to wonder if these temps are normal.

              in the summer once, i put an air conditioning unit into the intake fans and cooled my processor to about 20c and my graphics to about 35c. Really in practical but it worked really well.
