I had that same package from Comcast. But, since I choose to live in South Florida (where everyone else in their mom live), I never EVER saw that kind of speed. In fact, I had more problems with speed fluctuation that I could hardly even play BF2 on it.

Thus I ordered BellSouth DSL and all is well. :)

I think they are about to bump it all up in the next couple of months too.
          RR as well,

However, I get 8mbps down and 750kbps up.

 I think I am the only with RR in my town of 5,000!

Optus Cable, uncapped speeds, 12GB download limit (12noon to 12mn), 24GB download limit (12mn to 12noon). Stupid ay! Speeds arent that great, best downloads are off Macromedia and Microsoft and a few other servers, top download speed was 3000Kbps or so, off usual servers and P2P its 200 odd. Ping usually 5-30. $64.95 per month AUD.

im paying for 6.0megs down 8000kbs up, Ive never seen over 200 kbs on any downloads I do, and my average "high speed" is 150 kbs, Is there something seriously wrong with my connection or am i just thinking that.

anywho, instead of posting your advertised speeds guys, I'd suggest you go to http://www.dslreports.com/stest and use the server closest to you

sbc/at&t dsl advertised as 1.5-3Mbs...i get around 2Mbs (downstream, not sure what the advertise upstream is, but i usually cap out at about 50KB/s when sending files to friends over AIM)

One thing to keep in mind is that Kbps (kilo bits per second) is different than KB/s (kilobytes per second)

Most cable companies will advertise the Kbps or Mbps (the bits) because it will be a larger number than KB/s or MB/s

If you have it displayed as Kb/s, divide the number by 8 to get KB/s. :)
