Graphic Card for Dell 2400

I want to play BF2 on me Dell Dimension 2400, but i need a graphics card, and i havnt a clue on which one to get.. Also my dell video, graphic card slots are PCI and there are hardly any good graphics for the slots, all PCI express..
And does a PCI Express Card work in PCI slots..
Help ME...

PCI-E won't work in a PCI slot.

Without AGP you are extremely limited. You MIGHT be able to find something along the lines of a nVidia fx5700, tops, for PCI. Basically cards that are at the very low end of what's required for bf2. I've played BF2 on a FX5500, and know of someone who did it on a FX5200, but its all on low, and not a lot of fun.

Reading the specs I have to agree with The_Misfit, you're pretty screwed without an AGP or PCI-X slot.

Either that or sell that Dell for whatever you can get, and use the proceeds to buy a decent secondhand machine with AGP or PCI-X slots.

over the 5700LE linked above. Only reason for saying that is that at least the model 5500 has 128 bit memory interface as opposed to the 5700LE's crippled 64 bit memory interface. And if you really want to get down to which is the best PCI card, this one,

Ah. you may very well be right, didn't see the memory interface speeds. Chipset of the 5700 would probably be better tho'

Meh. I think everyone got what I meant. Even those who don't list the specs of their ub3r-l337 PC in their signature :P

Its what happens when your parents buy your PC. Or you get mesmorised by Dell's cheap prices.

Its really lame how the bigger PC companies sell these nasty machines with no upgrade path, at least PCI Express should be a bit more common than AGP in lower end machines.

Thats the thing with Dell, yea they have cheap systems but its because they use cheap parts...you get what you pay for!
