My mate is getting a new AGP card for his computer and its called the

Sapphire X1600 Pro 256MB DDR2 AVIVO TV-Out/DVI (AGP)
Clicky

Basically what he wants to know is what settings can he run BF2 on, he already has 2 gig ram.

high setting myabe, i'm not too sure about the anti aliasing.......

Medium, maybe a few high, 1024x768. The card really isn't that great, especially with only ddr2 memory.

Why dosn't he just spend 10 more punds and get the 512MB??? It wuould help a lot! Esp. if he wants to use any AA (anti aliasing).

fair enough ill try to get him the 512mb one, but he really wants to upgrade his card from a measly nvidia 6200.

No, it wouldn't. In fact it would be a waste of 10 pounds. Adding more crappy memory to a card like that isn't going to help it at all.

512mb on a 128mb interface is a marketing gimic. It's impossible to access the memory fast enough for it to be an efficient use. My neighbor has the X1600 and it's "not bad", but don't expect miracles. Nothing short of what's been the best card available over the past 3 months is going to really amaze you to the degree that some people are looking for. However, that said, I've actually hit all high at 1600x1200 on an X850XT PE on BF2 before. I have no idea how I did it, and it only lasted a day, but I was getting about 60fps and was VERY pleased. A cheap pci-e mobo/videocard combo gave me better scores without the hassle though. I highly suggest something similiar. Good luck !
