    System Optimization

After getting a 1700 on 3dMark06 (Ive never used it before, so might of set it up wrong) I decided to look around for some sort of optimization guide to get the most out of your PC/GPU. I saw one here a while ago but lost the link. If anyone has some tips/links please inform me.

    AMD Athlon 64 3500+
    Geforce 6800xt 256mb
    1gig ddr400 3200 corsair

I thought id get higher than a 1700... Maybe I did something wrong, That seen right or no. But If anyone has something that explains some optimizational settings :)

That wasnt much according to your system... Make shure Antialiasing is turned off, defrag your harddrive, and update your graphics drivers... Thats what i can think of right now...
Hmm... and shut down any other software etc that might be running in the background...

1700 in 06 sounds about right for that card. If you check the ORB at Futuremark there is only 7 results using your cpu clockspeed (assuming stock speed). There are a couple of scores over 2000, but I have a feeling that those were run in a SLI configuration.

Overclocking is the best thing you can do.

I suppose i should try it, Now that i have the Celcius Display on this pc, usually around 40deg c. after gaming for a while.

I believe tweakguides had a decent nvidia overclock guide. correct?

Got the overclocking all set up, Is it safe to say that the GPU is the lacking part? So overclocking would do me any good
