Well, everytime i run this program to clear all my uneeded processes to play BF2 or run 3Dmark test, my pc just shuts down giving me a blue screen error. Anyone else had any problems with smartclose doing this?

Re: SmartClose Problem
Post a list of your processes and which ones its trying to stop. Then we can tell you if any of them are vital for system stability.

Wow.. that is a lot.. i can see why you are trying to close some.. do you know which ones the program is trying to stop?

Re: SmartClose Problem
Here is an even better idea than trying to use some questionable program to shut things down, learn what those processes are and whether they need to be running all the time.
Here's a few places to get you started,
and if it isn't listed there, www.google.com.
And here is a good one to help you learn what the various Windows services are and whether you need them or not,
invloves a bit of reading to decide if a particular service is required on your system, but you WILL have a better running system, and know what is running on it afterwards.

Re: SmartClose Problem
During the process of closing the programs is fine, but when it comes to the exact end of the process where SmartClose is touching up, my PC just stuts down.
Oh yeah and cheers Stormy for those links.

Re: SmartClose Problem
Sounds like Smartclose isn't very smart. If the Nvidia process you are referring to is nvsvc32.exe, then that can be safely stopped/disabled (about the only thing stopping it will have an affect on is if you use Coolbits to overclock your card, your overclock settings don't get kept/loaded when you load Windows). Hell I disable it in Services after every drivers install (use Rivatuner instead).
Personally I am of the opinion that it is better to taqke the time to learn what is running on your computer than relying on some program to do it for you. Not only that but when you do know what is running (and not needed to run all the time), it makes it much easier to spot when something new/strange shows up in Task Manager.

Re: SmartClose Problem
I had problems with smartclose as well, so now I just use Startup Inspector (http://www.windowsstartup.com/download.php) and if anything still strats up that I don't want to, then I use msconfig
