    Ram question

    I have 1gig Ram in my system info says used 580MB half of the RAM.
    I was trying to turn off some processes but nothing they switching on again and only use 180MB. I need to know whwre is another 400MB of memory gone....? This is really strange

    XP is full of surprises.
    Rebooting is all I cna really suggest or download a RAM optimiserofsome kind (I don't really reocmmend them though)

          You are probably using high density modules which are only supported by a few chipsets including sis and via, and don't include any Asus boards or any Intel chipsets. This is a common problem when buying high density cheap ram.

            I bought ram for 80$ i dont know which is best and which is worst so there was a choice between 40$ 80$ and 140$ so i bought one in the middle.
            it something says i have DDR400 i dont think its RAM problem.
            I think its my P4.
            I have 2 pc another one is P3 it uses the same RAM but 256Mb only in system says
