Dealing with "step freezes" in High Mode

Ok, some quick specs of my Dell 9300 Inspiron Laptop.

    1 GB RAM
Intel Centrino Pentium M Processor 1.86 GHz
    GeForce Go 6800 256MB

Now, why is it that when I try to run the settings all in High that it does what I like to call "step freezes." You can take a couple steps then it freezes in the direction you are walking, making your guy uncontrollable while the computer still runs the bots and they do just fine shooting and killing you. I don't know what is wrong as I think that these are good enough to run BF2 on High settings. Anything over Low video quality settings makes the "step freezes" happen. It's very disapointing because the games graphics are amazing and I don't get to see them.

Any suggestions? I turn off all background programs and have a spyware search and destroy. I'm so upset and this has happened ever since I bought the game when it came out.

Try lowering the resolution, otherwise drop down to medium.

okay this is happening int Single player right?

either A. get a better wireless connection (if you are using wireless)
      b. turn your audio settings down (only for Single player)

yeah, Single Player...so I don't know what what wireless has to do with it, but I don't use wireless anyway. And audio settings mess with video settings?

Anything higher than the "Low" settings and I get these problems. I'm turning green.

You need more memory. Lower the Terrain Texture i think is called to medium setting, and it should go away.
