Would a video card that is meant for rendering graphics work well in BF2? I got a deal with a friend and he might give me some nvidia card that is a commercial card and not even availiable to the public... It also has 1 gig. memory on it. It is used for rendering graphics in the medical field. Sorry I don't know more. Just looking for a general answer here.

It "should" work, but you probably wont get anything mind blowing. I'd just save up if I were you and get a consumer card.
Here's an example of a Quadro FX3400 vs. 6800gs in some gaming benches.

You'd probably be better off selling the card on e-bay and using the money to buy a proper card. A high end quadro should fetch enough for you to get a 7900 series. I saw one with 512MB mem going for $400+ with 3 days still left on it. Depending on the specific model you may be able to rake in $600 - $700 or more.Comment
