Looking for a site that sells mid-end laptops for a fairly cheap price. When I say mid-end I mean 2 GHz CPU, 512 RAM, and 40 GB HD. Anyone help?

I think the best prices if you want to buy from a manufacturer is hpshopping.com there are some great notebooks with lots of options to fit your needs.

I'm buying an old computer off ebay to put linux on and goof around with, but I DON'T recommend buying a pc you will depend on from ebay.

Also, as an added afterthought, dell notebooks suck.

I completely agree with Dell sucking and thanks for the links, I'm sure they'll help a ton.

This isn't a gaming laptop and even if it was I would NOT buy it from Alienware.

I usually watch eBay for old laptops. Do you care about screen size or portability? I was very happy with my Dell Inspiron 8200 [modded to a Latitude C840: P4M-1600, 15" 1600x1200 screen with GeForce2Go 32MB, 3-spindles] from eBay. You can get 2GHz+ versions for $400-$500 now. Most Dell laptops since then have been pretty bad though.

go to www.evesham.co.uk they do anything to gaming non portable laptops to ultra portable laptops.

I have one of there mid range laptops and it rules.

I also do some vocational work for them!
