CPU cooler

Hi

I use the standard AMD cooler which came with my 3500+ and it isnt keeping things very cool. Ive tried different thermal paiste. AND ive even wired it to the psu to give the fan more speed to no avail.

Im looking at a bigger and better cooler so i can OC it and keep it cool especially when things start to get hot.

This is what ive found and i like the look of it:

If you have enough room in your case go with either a scythe ninja or a tuniq tower, both are excellent heatsinks.

I plan on the Big Typhoon for the Pentium D 950, but Zalman has gained a reputation for quality.

Be sure to check with the CPU maker to find certified coolers for the CPU's.

The stock heatsink should be fine if it's mounted right, unless you're in the 2.7 GHz+ range. I would buy Scythe or Thermalright. You can't beat the XP-90 for $25 and the Ninja for $35.

also i think the bearings are going in it, it makes a funny whining sound. So better safe than sorry ive decided to replace it!

Artic cooling if you got the room... or the new coolermaster for socket 939 is very extreme aswel..

yeh one in the front and one on top!

The one on the front is on the right of the hard drives and the top one is just off to the right of the PSU!
