    Computer slowdown

    what is the main cause of it is it not having enough RAM cuz when ever i load up windows xp now it takes fore ever and it used to be much faster

    Low hard drive space?

    Try defragging and deleting some worthless programs

          defragging is always a good idea to help speed up the overall performance of your computer.

            A virus will GREATLY slow down your computer on startup.... I downloaded a crapload of spyware once on accident and I went from having around a minute to bootup to more than 5 minutes... Thats cuz its restarting all the resource hogging programs as soon as you logon to windows...

              I expect you have alot of processes starting when windows starts go
              RUN>MSCONFIG and click on the startup tab, tell us whats in there and how many are ticked. CRTL+ALT+DEL and click the processes tab and see how many you have, anymore than 25 is alot.
