Logitech G5

I'm getting a new mouse now. I've had it with the one I have now, it's just not up to the task of playing FPS games. I'm also not going with a wireless mouse as I don't like having to buy and change batteries every so often. A wire doesn't really hurt me.

So, is the Logitech G5 a good choice? I'd like to hear from the guys that actually own one of these.

Go for it! The only minor feed-back for the G5 is that it jumps from 2000Dpi to 800dpi, wish it goes down to 1600dpi or 1200dpi instead of the large jump. But you won't regret it anyway 'coz this mouse is so smooth and powerful it will blow your adversaries to kingdom come!

You can select 5 dpi variations which you can pick by clicking on a button on the mouse. Very easy when jumping in a tank, makes the turret turn faster.

In your Logitech settings, there is an option that allows you to edit which resolution you want each increment to be.

I have my middle at 800, the highest at 2000 and I have 1600 for the "4th" option.

It's in the button, not very noticeable if you're not looking for it, named "Advanced Game Options"...or something like that. In the bottom right corner.

Make sure you have the software installed previous to trying this!

I have a Logitech® MX™518 love it

I have both, I personaly dont like the G5, it has a wierd texture and just feels quite odd, and it only has one thumb button. The 518 has 2 thumb buttons and just feels better and i can do MUCH better with it then the g5. Plust the g5 has this wierd weight cartridge thing. I would go for the 518!

after reading too many of these posts, I would say try and borrow and test before you buy. I almost bought an MX518. I borrowed a friend of mine's MX518, tried it, and realized I hated it. I then tried out my current mouse, a Microsoft Wireless Optical, and I must say, I love it!

Well, my G5 just got delivered an hour ago. Must say this is heaps better than the mouse I had before! The feet are so smooth, you just can't describe the difference between my old mouse and the G5! What weight on the cartridge do you guys think feels good. Right now i've put in 4x 1.7G.

Now you just need a logitech g15 keyboard. OHHH MAANNNN . Paired with my G5, the G15 is freakin sweet!!! If any of you want to have a kicka** looking desktop and want to have an advantage on the field, check one out!(sry for the entusiasm)
