    PowerColor X850XT Help.

    Hi all.

I am now bored of crappy graphics and slow loading times with my Radeon 9550 and 512Mb RAM. I have decided to upgrade to a PowerColor X850XT and 1Gb Ram. I was ust wondering if I will get some good results from this card...as I do not want to purchase it and find it's pretty bad! :p

Any help would be good. Also would I be able to overclock it etc. as I am a 'noob' in these area. Thankyou very much!

I just replied to your post in that other thread and said "I have the Sapphire x850xt and it IS good indeed"

You will be able to OC it with the control center, yes. I bought the NVSilencer compatible with it too for like 20 bucks. Takes some work, but it's quieter and cooler.

if you just want a boost in current games and bf2 performance (not saying it will go to max settings, just that it will give you a good boost in performance) then that should help a lot.

I have a powercolor x800xt-pe. runs bf2 fine. no problem with frame rates. I dont think you'll be able to overclock that card much though. is it a PE?

It's not a PE, but I am reading reviews of it and they say it can be OC'd PE speeds if needed. Will I see a major improvement over my 9550?

I have been told recently that an ASUS Geforce 6800GT do better for the same price. Any help here would be good.
            Thanks! (and sorry to doublepost).

the x850 will perform better than the 6800 gt.... the xt pe performs better than the ultra.... so figure it out if you overclock your x850 xt....

and yess you will see a major improvement.... and it doesnt need a big PSU either... 350 watts minimum.... i didnt have any problems on a 350 watt just make sure it's an A brand... now you're all set

                Found I only have a 250W PSU
I think I may just buy a new PC it will be cheaper.

well, you are gonna need a MUCH better PSU, yes get a PSU first. a new computer wouldnt be a bad idea but there are some new technologies coming out in the near future so you MIGHT wanna hold off.

if you get the x850 *once you have a good enough PSU* you will see a gigantic boost over your 9550. as for the 6800gt thing. the 6800gt heats up like a mother, and as for performance I dont know, my guess is that the x850xtPE beats it, but I dont know about the other ones.

I won't be able to afford a top spec PC....ever.
I'm not trying to get the best I can here, I'm trying to get something decent that will let me play BF2 and a few games in the future.

ya I know most people are in the same position... err well just buy the x850 xt its a beautiful card... and go for a good psu, and you'll be set and than nibble some ram with it aswel when you can but that's not really necessary
