Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

  • 1080p Update for Assassin's Creed IV is Available Now on PS4

1080p Update for Assassin's Creed IV is Available Now on PS4

Though it shipped running at 900p, the 1080p patch for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is now available for the PlayStation 4.
"Finishing the game at 900p gave the development team the extra room in terms of the GPU and CPU usage to ensure the framerate never dips below 30 frames per second," explained Ubi.
Though they also say that you probably won't even notice the difference between 900p and 1080p. Now, if it were a jump from 720p to 1080p, then yeah, you'd probably notice. They also s...

PlayStation 4 Reportedly Costs $381 to Build

It's actually rather amazing that the PS4 only costs $399 (USD) at retail stores as a recent hardware breakdown found that the components total about $381 (USD) for the system. This is in stark contrast to when the PlayStation 3 debuted in 2006. That console was found to cost $805 to make and sold for "just" $599.

To get into the particulars, chips take up a big proportion of the cost of the internal components. An unusually large microprocessor that is manufactured by chipmaker

Report: Next-Gen Tomb Raider Reveal Likely Coming at VGX

VGX is the new name for the Video Game Awards (VGAs) from years past. It seems like this year will be no exception to the rule of "new game trailer reveals" at the event as Square Enix is alluding to a new Tomb Raider next-gen reveal at this year's event in December.

It started off simply with an Amazon Italy listing for a PS4 version of Tomb Raider. After, a Square Enix representative told IGN to keep an eye out for events in December for a potential reveal.

Live Gameplay Streaming Delayed Until 2014 on Xbox One

Though the PlayStation 4 launched with live gameplay streaming, it seems as though the same features will be delayed until 2014 on the Xbox One.
We know the ability to instantly broadcast gameplay is something the gaming community is excited about, and we are too. We are working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community, so while this feature won’t be available right away, we’ll let you know as soon as it is ready.

Happy Birthday - Half-Life Released 15 Years Ago Today

While we don't have any elaborate write-up here to celebrate the 15th anniversary since the original Half-Life was released, the folks at Rock, Paper, Shotgun do.
When I think about Half-Life the very first things that come to mind are crowbar, intro sequence, that first broken elevator, Xen, the noise of a face-hugger… Memories pour in, dozens of them, faster than I can keep up with. There are few games that my brain stores in such detail. But of everything in the game, I think

Tested Compares PlayStation 4 Hard Drives - SSD, Hybrid, and HDD

Will Smith from Tested.com recently put the PlayStation 4 through a number of tests to perhaps answer, "how much will a solid-state drive improve performance on a console?" The answer may not surprise you but there are some catches here.

Does this sway your decision to perhaps upgrade your PS4 hard drive? If so, which direction are you leaning more towards? Simply a higher capacity drive? Or will you instead opt for a hybrid drive instead now?...

    by Shawn Zipay
    It's AAAA vs WB.

March isn't even over yet and we've already seen a couple of stinkers come out from major gaming studios. While we tend to focus on the surprise hits or quality titles in these polls, this time it's a little bit different.

Between the Rocksteady developed live-service Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the "AAAA" quality Ubisoft developed Skull and Bones: Which is the bigger disappointment for you?
