Oculus Rift to Temporarily Cease Production Due to Material Shortage
Oculus revealed that they will have to temporarily suspend production on the Oculus Rift developer kits due to certain components no longer being manufactured. Without parts, they can't make more Rifts. Seems simple enough.
A post on the Oculus section on Reddit outlines what is happening and the current shipping situations.
Certain components used in the Oculus Rift developer kit are no longer being manufactured, meaning they are no longer available to us for production.... -

Hands-on with Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~
Let's visit Japan! It will be fun! It will be educational! There will be toilets! There will be dating! There will be WcDonalds! There will be nudity!
In all seriousness, this IS rather educational and informative if you can get past the unnecessary dating and romantic story stuff that has been mixed in. It's billed as a "guidebook in game format" and it can actually be quite enjoyable if you pay attention and aren't screwing around trying to create something for the... -

Gearbox Suing 3D Realms and Interceptor Over Unauthorized Use of Duke Nukem IP
Gearbox has filed a lawsuit against 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment over unauthorized use of the Duke Nukem IP. Gearbox picked up the rights to the Duke Nukem IP when 3D Realms sold it back in 2010. Allegedly, 3D Realms was quietly talking with developers and trying to make it seem like they never actually sold the IP.
Ha ha, whoops!
So that Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction top-down action-RPG that surfaced a short while ago really isn't legally allowed... -

To those worried that the second half of Double Fine's Broken Age wouldn't be made, you can rest easy. Tim Schafer has confirmed that funding for Broken Age Act 2 has been secured and that the second act will be completed.
"We've made enough that we can make the second half of the game for sure," Schafer said. "And we're not done making it to all the platforms because we haven't released it on iPad yet. I feel that's going to be a really interesting platform for adventure games.... -

Square Enix is Interested in Bringing More Final Fantasy Games to PC
In an interview with Eurogamer, Final Fantasy Producer, Yoshinori Kitase, said that the company is "definitely interested" in bringing more Final Fantasy games to the PC.
In fact, Final Fantasy 13 began its life on the PC and was then ported to consoles. It would have been very easy for them to release PC versions of all three games but decided against it for two reasons.
"(W)e looked at the market situation and we didn't think it would be a good idea, and also it... -

Respawn Denies Titanfall Bribery Claims
Apparently, the Internet is busy being the Internet again and some are donning their foil hats and saying Respawn Entertainment has bribed journalists for the favorable Titanfall reception.
The company went on the defensive with a post from Respawn's Drew McCoy at NeoGAF.
Anyone who thinks we weren't living in the shadow of decade+ old established franchises at our reveal at E3 are as crazy as their conspiracy theories of anyone getting paid off. We've had to fight tooth and... -
