The creator of the sleeper hit Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, is readying a new game that may be released by the end of this month. It's called Checkonaut and is being billed as an "action chess game."
Will this game suffer the same fate as Flappy Bird? It's anybody's guess right now. However, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Nguyen expanded upon his reasons for pulling the game.
Part of the reason involves addiction. He equated the addiction some players had with Fl...

The Witcher 3 Slated for a February 2015 Release
CD Projekt RED has issued an open letter to the fans that are awaiting the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They talk about a new planned release date of February 2015.
Ever since we started working on the third installment in The Witcher franchise, it has been our aim to produce a title that would take our 11 years of experience in creating RPGS and distill them into a quintessence, into a game that would effectively crown those years. At the same time, we have wanted The Witcher... -

Respawn Explains Titanfall's 48GB Install Size
The other day, someone from The Escapist said that the audio for Titanfall included every localized language file. Now that the game is out for everyone, it's a bit easier to see what your hard drive space is being taken up by.
It seems as though that while there are a multitude of localized language files, the bulk of the audio size is indeed taken up by uncompressed audio. In speaking with Eurogamer, Respawn's Lead Engineer, Richard Baker, said that they use uncompressed... -

Driveclub Reportedly Going 'Back to the Drawing Board'
Sony and the Sony-owned studio, Evolution Studio, have decided to go "back to the drawing board" on Driveclub. The game was originally going to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 but was then quietly delayed right as the system was launched.
In a brief interview with IGN, Sony's Scott Rohde gave an update to the status of the game.
“What I will say is that it all comes back to that fundamental principle, and that’s that we want to build great games,” Rohde... -

Games with Gold is 'Fundamentally Different' Than PlayStation Plus, Says Xbox's Phil Spencer
During a talk at this weekend's SXSW, Microsoft's Phil Spencer said that the Xbox Games with Gold program is "fundamentally different" when compared to "other programs" since it allows members to keep games regardless of whether or not they pay for a subscription.
Spencer is obviously referring to Sony's PlayStation Plus program without directly mentioning the competition by name.
"One of our issues with Games with Gold — not 'issues,' but differences between the other system... -

Gone Home Heading to Unspecified Consoles
Gone Home is slated to come out on "consoles." The latest blog entry from The Fullbright Company wasn't too specific on which consoles they meant, but I'm going to assume something with "Xbox" and/or "PlayStation" in the name. I know, call me crazy.
Midnight City is to thank for the console version of this game that seems to have really divided the gamers of the world on whether or not it's good. Both teams plan to release more specific details on this "console" release lat... -

Titanfall is slated to be released tomorrow for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC platforms. To mark the occasion, Newegg is holding a special Titanfall Sweepstakes that will see over $11,000 worth of prizes being dished out to the lucky winners.
They're calling it the "ultimate Titanfall gaming experience" and given what the grand prize includes, that description sounds rather spot on.
The grand prize winner will receive:- Custom-painted Titanfall themed desktop

Most of Titanfall's 50GB Install Size is Taken Up by Localized Language Audio Files
Allegedly, most of the 50GB install size for Titanfall is due to almost 35GB of audio files. For some unknown reason, Respawn and EA have decided to include every localized language pack into one install. That means that no matter what language you speak, you will have every language included in your download and install of the game.
This comes from a user on the Escapist forums. I do not have the game myself and cannot verify these claims but he did provide a couple of...

by Shawn ZipayIt's AAAA vs WB.
March isn't even over yet and we've already seen a couple of stinkers come out from major gaming studios. While we tend to focus on the surprise hits or quality titles in these polls, this time it's a little bit different.
Between the Rocksteady developed live-service Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the "AAAA" quality Ubisoft developed Skull and Bones: Which is the bigger disappointment for you?
