Google announced today (and will talk about more at GDC 2014) about their upcoming plans for Google Play Games. First off, they revealed that they are introducing game gifts to the service. Titanfall Helps Raise Xbox One Hardware Sales by 96% in the UK
In one week, Titanfall helped the Xbox One sell 96% more Xbox One units than the previous week. Titanfall is part of a £399 bundle deal in the area.
According to Eurogamer, that bundle alone accounted for 70% of all Xbox One hardware sold during that week. According to Chart-Track, sales of Titanfall are double the sales of the former Xbox One best-seller in the area, FIFA 14.

Jon Shiring is an engineer working at Respawn Entertainment and he is super grateful for the Xbox Live Compute program that is built on Microsoft's Azure server program. It powers a lot of stuff within Titanfall and Shiring says (via MP1st) that the benefit from those servers is real.

Sony Confirms a $50 Price Increase for PlayStation 4 in Canada
Sony Computer Entertainment Canada confirmed that the price of the PlayStation 4 in Canada is going from $399.99 (CAD) to $449.99. In addition to this price increase, the cost of PlayStation 4 peripherals in the country will go from $59.99 to $64.99.
These price increases went into affect yesterday, March 15. Sony has confirmed to the Toronto Sun that these price increases are very much real.

According to Zats Not Funny, this may very well be the design for the Amazon branded Bluetooth controller coming out.

More sad news today as a fresh round of layoffs have hit the EA owned studio of PopCap Games.
EA has not revealed the actual number of people laid off today. They did, however, confirm that the PopCap HD studio was unaffected. PopCap HD is the studio that worked on Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.
