In an effort to combat the rubber banding issue in Battlefield 4, DICE set out to look for what they believe to be the root cause of the issue. GameStop Closing 120 Traditional Stores as Focus Shifts to Mobile
GameStop has announced their plans to close at least 120 of their 6,457 retail locations. Their new focus, one that CEO Paul Raines calls "GameStop 3.0," is on mobile gaming. The company plans to shift more of their focus on to mobile and Apple devices. As such, GameStop plans to open between 200 and 250 Spring Mobile stores, which effectively doubles the 164 current locations for that particular retailer. BioWare has pushed the release of their Galactic Strongholds expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic by almost two months. Initially, subscriber early access was slated to begin on June 24 but has been pushed back to August 19. The deadline to earn rewards has moved from May 11 to July 15.
