Geoff Keighley to Skip E3 for First Time as Troubles Mount for Dying Trade Show

This comes the same day the exhibitor list was leaked.

Geoff Keighley, creator of The Game Awards, revealed today that he will not be attending E3 2020. His decision to not attend this year's event will mark the first time in 25 years that the industry veteran will not be in attendance. It also means that he will not host the annual E3 Coliseum show. This was a regular event where Keighley would host a series of game developers in a rather informal Q&A, allowing them to talk freely...

A dangling plot thread from the first game is finally going somewhere.

Ubisoft has officially announced the Warlords of New York expansion today for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 (affiliate link btw) after details about it leaked yesterday evening. We now know for certain that this expansion launches on March 3. We also know for certain that players are returning to New York, specifically four new named zones in Lower Manhattan.

Anthem is Finally Getting a Massive Overhaul

BioWare officially announces their plans to make major changes.

Anthem as it currently exists is hanging on by the most tenuous of threads. Despite apparently being one of 2019's top selling titles, at least according to data shared by The NPD Group, the player base is next to non-existent. It would take a significant amount of work to get players interested in the game once again, which is apparently what BioWare has been working on behind the scenes for a little while now.

Nvidia's Game Streaming Service Finally Leaves Beta

GeForce Now is now live.

After quite some time cooking in a development oven, Nvidia has finally released their game-streaming service to everyone. They call it GeForce Now and is an already fairly proven competitor to other streaming services such as Google Stadia and Microsoft's upcoming Project xCloud.

While Stadia relies more on a Google curated list of games and xCloud is mainly focused on Xbox titles, GeForce Now attempts to let you stream just about any PC game...

Battlefield 4 Free Handgun Shortcut is Available Now

The shortcut package that lets you unlock every pistol in Battlefield 4 is now available through Origin.

  • BioShock Developer Irrational Games 'Winding Down' as Most Employees are Laid Off

Ken Levine updated the Irrational Games website earlier today with a sad message for fans of the BioShock series and System Shock 2, to name a couple. He says that Irrational Games will be "winding down" and that he will be moving to a "smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavor" at Take-Two.

He also says that this means having to let go of all but 15 employees at Irrational Games. Here is Ken Levine's message to the fans.

  • Gabe Newell Responds to Accusations Saying Valve is Spying on Your Browsing Habits

The other day, someone made the claim that Valve is reading all of your DNS cache entries and sending those entries to Valve. What a surprise it was (not really) when it turns out that wasn't true.

Hearing enough of this nonsense, Valve's own Gabe Newell decided to set the record straight on what VAC is and is not doing. Here is his Reddit post, reproduced in full.
Trust is a critical part of a multiplayer game community - trust in the developer, trust in the system,

No. We are not developing that right now. We don't know what that is yet. We can imagine what it must achieve, but we don't know what it is yet. I'm not going to fuck around with you like Valve does with Half-Life 3.
