Half-Life: Alyx is a flagship VR game from Valve.

It's taken 12 years, but Valve has finally announced a new Half-Life title. The studio formerly known for developing hats has just announced a "flagship VR" title called Half-Life: Alyx.

Review: Journey for Elysium (PC VR)

A short trip to the afterlife.

For the past several months now, we have offered up glimpses of the story-driven VR adventure title Journey for Elysium. We saw a game that had a unique visual style, the promise of a story that would take us all to an afterlife, a world filled with architecture inspired by Greek mythology, and mind-bending puzzles to solve. The unique visual style was certainly eye catching, but I often wondered if the rest of the game would be able to hold up to this aesthetically pleasing presentation.

With the release of Journey...

Better late than never.

We're just a few days late in sharing this news with you, but when it comes to charity: Better late than never, right?

The latest annual charity drive (get it?) that is Desert Bus for Hope is well underway. A group of people have already spent three days driving across the desert, in real time, in an effort to raise money for charity. In three days and 6 hours, the crew has already raised over $388,400 for the Child's Play charity. The team is still going strong after all this time.

For those that don't know,...

Google Stadia Launch Games are Lacking

Stadia comes out of the gate already limping.

With the soft launch of Google Stadia rapidly approaching, it seems like we're beyond due for a look at the platform's launch lineup. Hell, we're probably beyond due for a look at the Stadia UI and full featureset, but that is another matter entirely.

Today, Google revealed a list of 12 games that will serve as the launch titles for when Stadia has a soft launch on November 19. For $130, you were able to get in on the ground floor of the launch of Stadia with the Founder's Edition. These kits have...

EA Working on Cross-Save and Progression Sharing Between Steam and Origin

Seems EA is serious about this return to Steam.

With the recent announcement that EA was making a return to Steam, a number of questions remained unanswered. A couple of those questions focused on whether or not there would be support for things like cross-save or even cross-progression between EA's own Origin platform and Steam.

Fortunately, we have a few promising answers today. Most developers don't like to split their communities and EA is no exception. It seems they are working to get Origin to work similar to how Ubisoft's Uplay works with...

Someday You'll Return Offers Up New Story Focused Trailer

Someday You'll Return is a "narrative-driven psychological horror" game that places you in the shoes of Daniel. Daniel's daughter, Stela, is a runaway and you're trying to find her. In the process, you will take Daniel through places that he "swore never to return to."

One such place is the Moravian forests and apparently some bad stuff went down in Daniel's past in this location. This new trailer, entitled "Remembrance" shows how Daniel will have to deal with these events from his past.

    Someday You'll Return...

Weedcraft Inc Blazes Trail Towards April 11 Release

Devolver Digital and Vile Monarch announced the release date for their "cannabis tycoon" game today that is appropriately called Weedcraft Inc. The release date is none other than April... 11th. Alright, I get it. I suppose they wanted the game out ahead of the 20th so that people can get their videos in order ahead of time. It just makes sense!

As the game's title implies, Weedcraft Inc is about the in's and out's of running a business that specializes in the production and sale of cannabis. It's priced at $19.99, is coming exclusively to Steam,...

  • Microsoft Reveals World of Warcraft Now Runs on DirectX 12 on Windows 7

Microsoft Reveals World of Warcraft Now Runs on DirectX 12 on Windows 7

I really have no idea why Microsoft is promoting this news, yet here we are. A new MSDN blog post was put up today by Jianye Lu, program manager at Microsoft, that talks about how World of Warcraft is a DirectX 12 game running on Windows 7.

There are a lot of things simultaneously incredibly weird and incredibly interesting about this news. It marks the first major title to use DirectX 12 on Windows 7. That's pretty neat. However, DirectX 12 has largely been a Windows 10 exclusive API. It's actually been a pretty big reason behind pushing some people...

  • Gearbox Teases Some Borderlands Reveal for PAX East 2019

Gearbox Teases Some Borderlands Reveal for PAX East 2019

Late in February, Gearbox announced that they will have a presence at PAX East 2019. Today, the development studio put an exclamation point on that announcement by teasing something that looks a hell of a lot like the Borderlands art style.

The tweet was nothing more than the ubiquitous eyes emoji 👀 along with a stylized road sign saying "March 28" and "Boston, MA" in the Borderlands style. I'm assuming this is going to be Gearbox's big Borderlands 3 reveal. It's either that or they are just being massive jerks and there won't be...
