Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

PlayStation 4 Hit 4.2 Million Units Sold in 2013

In a bit of a move to "one up" the competition, Sony revealed today that they sold 4.2 million PlayStation 4 units as of December 28, 2013. This follows the news from Microsoft, where they said they sold 3 million Xbox One consoles in 2013.

Sony dropped this rather unsurprising bomb on those in attendance at its CES 2014 keynote today. This also follows news from "earlier" in 2013 that the company sold 2.1 million PS4 units by early December....

  • Total Gaming Network's Most Enjoyable Games of 2013

Total Gaming Network's Most Enjoyable Games of 2013

You have already seen the games and industry related issues I felt were the "Biggest Disappointments of 2013." Now, it's time to share the list of games that I feel were the most enjoyable to me in 2013.

Now, we usually had some sort of a "top 10" list around here, be it in written format in 2011 or video format (2012) from previous years. This year, I decided to give an unsorted list of the games I most enjoyed. Yes, there are more than ten games here. This is simply because I felt that while 2013 was a great year of really enjoyable titles, there really wasn't one game that stood out amongst the rest. Thus, making a list that culminated in a "#1 game of 2013" seemed like a really stupid idea to do.

With that said, here are the games I enjoyed playing the most in 2013. The only order you'll find here is alphabetical.

    Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Despite the rather lengthy list of shortcomings in Assassin's Creed III, it still ended up being one of my favorite games of 2012. Assassin's...

Origin and Steam Taken Offline by DDoS Attacks

In case you've been having issues logging in to either Origin or Steam, you have some bored script kiddies to thank for that. One group, led by "Derp Trolling" targeted Origin earlier tonight.

In response, another group led by chF decided to take down Steam. Their Twitter accounts will be linked to from us.

Both have obviously been quite successful in their attempts at disrupting service for users....

  • Updated Anti-Cheat Measures Allegedly Released by Valve for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Allegedly, on December 31, updated anti-cheat methods were rolled out to various Counter-Strike: Global Offensive servers. Namely, it appears as though the servers that Valve run themselves were updated while other dedicated servers were not yet updated with this "mysterious" update.

Those of the CS:GO section on Reddit noticed that a larger than normal number of cheaters were bitching that their undetectable cheats had gotten them banned from VAC secured servers. If this is indeed the case, Valve made no announcement of this, perhaps to catch these cheaters off guard. In addition to this apparent up...
