Six Month Subscription Plan Removed from The Elder Scrolls Online - Pointing Towards F2P Soon?
Some players noticed that the six-month subscription option for The Elder Scrolls Online was removed from the game. When this has happened to other MMO's in the past, this seemed to point towards a move of the game to a free to play model in some cases. In other cases, it actually pointed to the game being shut down completely such as with Warhammer Online. ZeniMax has made no official announcement about anything yet. The only thing they said about this move is that users simply pref... -

Sony Santa Monica Studio Planning a God of War Event for March and More in 2015
Sony Santa Monica Studio put up their "Looking Forward to 2015" entry on their site. In it, the team describes how they are planning to hold a special God of War event in March. This event will focus on celebrating ten years of the God of War franchise and will be a "special anniversary celebration for our fans." Now, beyond that, the team also dropped a few more tasty nuggets of information. Later in 2015, they say that they'll be back for "round 2" by making an appearance at the 2015... -

Indie Games The rise of Indie games continued in 2014. Throughout the year, we saw some very impressive releases across almost every platform known to man, namely on the PC through Steam and on the PlayStation 4. While some may whine that Indie games are somehow "lesser games," that really isn't the case in the slightest. Indie... -

PSN and XBL Experiencing Outages as Media Outlets Unnecessarily Spread Fear
You may have already heard by now, but both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live have been experiencing some outages these past few days. Sure, a lot of the problem probably stems from the normal holiday rush of new console owners trying to get online but there's a bit more. Yep, a group of people are DDoS'ing both online services and bringing their login and authentication servers down. As a result, new and existing owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are finding it difficult to get online. X... -

The Best in Gaming 2014 - Part 1
It's Christmas Eve and that can only mean one thing: I've been drinking. It also means that I put off writing my "best of" entry until the worst possible moment.
Let's face it, 2014 pretty much sucked in almost every aspect for the gaming industry. This was one of the few years where the "good" was the rarity. Thankfully, there was some good to be found. There were still some great games released and some really fantastic treats for gaming fans and the industry at large. Be... -

Guest Reviews: Marlow Briggs and Hatoful Boyfriend
Recently, I bought a bunch of Steam games for a variety of people. Some of the purchases were joke buys, yet others were not. The games mentioned in the reviews below were meant as joke gifts but Total Gaming Network user and frequent visitor to the Team Speak server I and a group of friends hang out on, actually had a blast playing these games. User EdwardMowinckel decided to repay the kindness by writing up his thoughts and feelings on those games. What lies below this line is all his wor... -

(Update) DSfix for Dark Souls is Taken Down After Bandai Namco Reportedly Issues a DMCA Takedown
Update: It seems as though this was all just a big misunderstanding. NeoGAF user, Chariot, received a reply back from FDS File Defense Service, a group tasked with removing the "debug mode patches" for Dark Souls.
Good news: everything's ok guys! I just called Volker Rieck from FDS File Defense Service. They were indeed hired by Bandai Namco, but not the germany division, but the US Europe one, to take down all the debug mode patches. Dutante's DSfix was not part of the plan! Mr. R... -

2014's Biggest Disappointments in the Gaming Industry - Part 2
Let's continue where I left off in "2014's Biggest Disappointments in the Gaming Industry - Part 1" from yesterday!
Xbox One Lacks a Screenshot Feature The Xbox One shipped with even fewer features than the PlayStation 4 did, but a lot of cool new features have been added to the system regularly throughout the year. However, it still lacks a feature that fans have wanted from the start: The ability to take screenshots. The system already has the ability to record short gameplay clips... -
