Pokemon Plays Twitch Chat Live at AGDQ 2015
We have all obviously heard of Twitch Plays Pokemon by now, right? But did you know that Pokemon Red could play Twitch? No, it's true! During the "tool-assisted speedrun" (TAS) section of Awesome Games Done Quick 2015, it was made clear that you can do pretty much anything with a bit of time and effort. I don't know the exact technical details, but they managed to have Pokemon Red for the Super Game Boy execute a program created within its own memory that prints a live feed of the... -

Xbox One Price Returns to $400+ Tomorrow January 4
Tomorrow, January 4, the temporary price cut on the Xbox One will be a thing of the past. The price is expected to the jump back up to the $400-$500 range. This is following a huge rush of sales of the console for the holidays thanks to the price cut and substantial number of bundle offerings. That means if you haven't picked up and Xbox One for the $50 price reduction or any of the price reduced bundles, it's probably too late by the time you read this. The prices will go back up to $40... -

Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta Receives New Maps and Game Type
Earlier, an update for the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta was rolled out. A new game type was added as a part of this update in addition to two new maps entering into the Slayer playlist.
This week in the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, battle it out in Breakout, a brand-new game type! Breakout is round-based, and your Spartan only has one life each round. The first team to take five rounds wins the match. You’ll be able to play on two maps: Crossfire, and its variant, Trench.... -

PSA: Secure Your Origin Accounts
There have been some stories lately of users who have gotten their Origin accounts "hacked" into. People have gained access to Origin accounts that are not theirs and have made false purchases on these accounts.
EA has claimed that there has been no security breach on their end but I still see a number of these first hand accounts popping up. If you're worried about someone gaining access to your account take some simple precautions before something bad happens.

Valve May Not Be the Best Place to Work At - Former Employees Make Their Voices Heard
Rich Geldreich parted ways from Valve back in June of 2013. He was one of the forces driving the future of OpenGL and Steam Linux at Valve before he said his goodbyes. Even then, Geldreich made it clear that he wasn't too thrilled with how business was conducted at the company. Yesterday, he wrote up a blog entry detailing why the experience left a sour taste in his mouth.
In his blog, entitled Open Office Spaces and Cabal Rooms Suck, Geldreich details why he and the environment... -

Six Month Subscription Plan Removed from The Elder Scrolls Online - Pointing Towards F2P Soon?
Some players noticed that the six-month subscription option for The Elder Scrolls Online was removed from the game. When this has happened to other MMO's in the past, this seemed to point towards a move of the game to a free to play model in some cases. In other cases, it actually pointed to the game being shut down completely such as with Warhammer Online. ZeniMax has made no official announcement about anything yet. The only thing they said about this move is that users simply pref... -

PSN and XBL Experiencing Outages as Media Outlets Unnecessarily Spread Fear
You may have already heard by now, but both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live have been experiencing some outages these past few days. Sure, a lot of the problem probably stems from the normal holiday rush of new console owners trying to get online but there's a bit more. Yep, a group of people are DDoS'ing both online services and bringing their login and authentication servers down. As a result, new and existing owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are finding it difficult to get online. X... -
