Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

New Final Fantasy VII Remake Teaser

Just watch it.

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

New Teaser Trailer for Wargame Red Dragon

It looks like the Wargame series is making a bit of a comeback. A new teaser trailer for Wargame Red Dragon was released today.

The NATO and Pact armies and their allies finally deploy in Asia. This first Red Dragon video gives us a taste of the strategic and pyrotechnical delights in store for you in this new Wargame title, which takes place at the start of a new major armed conflict. You can look forward to new factions, new units and combat vehicles (for a total of over 1,300!) and, in particular, the introduction of naval units: the landing craft, amphibian vehicles and warships will thrill fans of complex

Battlefield 4 Running on Mantle Runs Up to '45% Faster'

During AMD's CES 2014 conference, the company discussed a bit about their upcoming Mantle API and how it will impact Battlefield 4 performance. They said that they've seen "up to" 45% increases in framerate in some cases in Battlefield 4.

The part of the above video that is important to you begins around the 30:30 mark. Comparison video footage was not shown off, though they seem to have shown off a few brief segments of the game running with Mantle. Unfortunately, their presentation showing off how great Mantle is did include a few complete lockups for a few seconds. Mantle support in Battlefield 4 is slated to be re...

  • Killing Floor 2 and Other Secret Titles Revealed with Steam Stats Page Glitch

Earlier today, a little "snafu" on the Steam stats page may have accidentally revealed some unannounced games.

A few of those games include Killing Floor 2 and Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate HD. There are also some obvious games sitting on that list with codenames, just in case something like this happened.

What do you suppose Hickory might be? What about Waffles? Besides being delicious, that is. And seriously, who is that one guy playing Football Manager 2011 Review?! Again, many of these games are not public nor are some of them announced (yet). Some things may not ever be released, while others are an almost guaranteed bet. It's rather...

Far Cry Compilation Celebrates 10 Years of Crying Far

To celebrate ten years of the Far Cry series, Ubisoft is going to release a compilation of games from the series. It will include Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. This compilation will be released only on the PlayStation 3 on February 11. Unfortunately, this will not include the original Far Cry. It does, however, include all of the extras released for the games it does include. It includes all single player and multiplayer modes. Ubisoft also claims that Far Cry 2 is a "full digital re-master" of the original. I don't know what that means in this context either. It will retail for $39....

SOE Announces Unified Subscription Model for Online Games

In the past, Sony Online Entertainment had separate subscription fees for different games. Earlier today, they announced that they will soon have a unified subscription model. That means that one fee per month will grant players access to all of SOE's subscription based games.

In addition to this, they also lowered the price of All Access to $14.99 (USD). The full details were revealed on Reddit from Sony's John Smedley.
Here are the basics of our revised plan. Please note - we have not had the time to do estimates of the work involved, and also we're continuing to listen. so this isn't baked just yet. Do not expect that this is all going to happen immediately. We plain

In a bit of a move to "one up" the competition, Sony revealed today that they sold 4.2 million PlayStation 4 units as of December 28, 2013. This follows the news from Microsoft, where they said they sold 3 million Xbox One consoles in 2013.

Sony dropped this rather unsurprising bomb on those in attendance at its CES 2014 keynote today. This also follows news from "earlier" in 2013 that the company sold 2.1 million PS4 units by early December....
