New 'Experimental' Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft CEO

Open World? GAAS? Mobile? VR?

The emotional rollercoaster that fans of the Splinter Cell series has been on for the past few years has been never ending, has had no chill, and frankly, it's gotten to be a wee bit tiresome. In May of this year, a new Splinter Cell was apparently "confirmed" and then it was later revealed to just be a joke.

Last month, we again heard a rumor that a new Splinter Cell was actually in the works. However, that story from July says that Facebook is financing the game and that it will be a VR only title and exclusive to the Oculus...

Mojang Cancels 'Super Duper Graphics Pack' for Minecraft

Performance issues and engine difficulties were too much to overcome.

Sadly, Mojang announced today that they are cancelling the promised Super Duper Graphics Pack that was originally revealed at E3 2017. This visual overhaul was teased for the game during the annual industry trade show and fans were eager to check it out for themselves.

This was going to be an optional piece of DLC that brought a suite of visual improvements to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game without needing to mod it. Sure, a lot of the visual improvements have been done time and time again...

Next stop: Reboot City.

This year, Call of Duty fans are getting a reboot of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. Next year, fans may get a reboot of the Black Ops series. This is if the latest rumors are to be believed.

The 2020 Call of Duty will either be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game will be set in the Cold War era and will also include the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

This all comes courtesy of YouTuber TheLongSensation via his Twitter account. While it may be easy to just write this off as some random person...

No Man's Sky Beyond Launch Trailer

Update arrives August 14.

A launch trailer for the massive Beyond update for No Man's Sky was released today by Hello Games. This update is said to be the "culmination of 12 months of work" on what was originally going to be three separate, large updates. Those three updates have been rolled into this massive update.

We already touched upon some of the new features and content coming to the game in our last post. The biggest addition, at least for PC and PlayStation VR owners, is the addition of full VR support for No Man's Sky. There are also some additional...

Solos Finally Coming to Apex Legends

But only for a limited time.

Apex Legends will finally allow introverts to play without worry starting on August 13. A Solos Mode will be introduced into the F2P battle royale game. So far, the game has only really allowed for three-man squads.

The addition of Solos Mode is the good news. The bad news is that this mode will only be added to the game for a limited time. This Solos Mode will run from August 13 through August 27 in Apex Legends. Best get your fill of it while you can, because who knows when or if it will come back afterwards. ...

  • League of Legends Professional Gamer Attempts Suicide After Revealing Shady Gambling Practices and Match Fixing by Manager

A former Korean professional League of Legends player, Pimir, wrote a "goodbye" letter moments before attempting suicide. In the letter, he revealed that the team's manager, Noh, forced the team to throw matches in order to win a variety of gambling bets. Yes, he was betting against his own team. The manager threatened the team with pulled sponsorships if the team did not agree to throw the matches he ordered them to. The problem is, Pimir's note said that those sponsorships didn't really exist. Noh said that their practice computers were a part of the sponsorship and would be taken away if they didn't keep throwing matches. Noh repeatedly exploited the kids he managed for his own gains, even going so far as t...

  • Valve Added a Report Function for Games on Steam

Valve Added a Report Function for Games on Steam

Ever wanted to report a game on Steam for some odd reason or another? Well, now you can!

A "report this product" feature was added today to every game on Steam. Simply click on a little flag icon (to the right of where it says "Share" and "Embed") to get the following report window.

There is really no telling what function this will really have as I doubt many titles will be (nor should be) pulled simply for offending a few people, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see. I mean, if offending people or having adult content was all it took to get something pulled, then South Park:...

PSA: Steam has a BAFTA Sale Going on Until Tomorrow

The British Academy Games Awards (BAFTA) are being celebrated through a small sale on Steam. The sale claims it's on for 24 hours but I have no idea when it began. It should be safe to assume that you should buy what you want right when you see it instead of waiting.

It includes such titles as Surgeon Simulator 2013, The Stanley Parable, Tomb Raider, Gunpoint, Brothers, and many more great titles.

Again, the clock is ticking on these, so hurry up and check out the BAFTA sale page before the sale is no more.

  • This War of Mine Announced - Takes a Decidedly Different Approach to War Games

11 Bit Studios has just announced This War of Mine. Gone are your conventional staples of war games where you play as part of a national military or as some elite squad.

No, this one is a bit different.
In This War of Mine, the focus is shifted away from military operations portrayed in most games. Instead, it is a dark survival game where players control a group of civilians trying to stay alive in a besieged city. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, offering players time to craft, trade, upgrade their shelter, feed and cure their people. At night they must scavenge nearby areas in search for food, medicines,

  • Flappy Bird Creator Dong Nguyen Set to Release Checkonaut This Month

Flappy Bird Creator Dong Nguyen Set to Release Checkonaut This Month

The creator of the sleeper hit Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, is readying a new game that may be released by the end of this month. It's called Checkonaut and is being billed as an "action chess game."

Will this game suffer the same fate as Flappy Bird? It's anybody's guess right now. However, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Nguyen expanded upon his reasons for pulling the game.

Part of the reason involves addiction. He equated the addiction some players had with Flappy Bird with the same addiction he faced with Counter-Strike. His studies suffered as a result.
Nguyen estimated he was clearing $50,000 a day. Before long, Shuriken Block
