Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

When The Elder Scrolls Online releases not only will Xbox gamers have to pay the $14.99 (USD) monthly fee for the game, but they'll also have to pay for their Xbox Live Gold subscription. PlayStation and PC gamers will only have to pay the $14.99 monthly fee for the game.

A Q&A on the PlayStation Blog made it clear that a paid PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to play The Elder Scrolls Online on the PlayStation 4.

  • DICE Announces February as Player Appreciation Month - Includes Free Unlocks, Battlepacks, and More

DICE has decided to turn February into Player Appreciation Month for Battlefield 4. Think of it as their way of saying "sorry" for releasing one of the biggest blunders of the modern gaming era.

So, what does this mean for you, the player? They first open by saying they're still working on the "netcode" for the game that they feel wwill "tighten the overall multiplayer experience" for the game. Details are light on this but hopefully more will be revealed in the next month. As for the other freebies, here is what they'll offer up.

  • Over 60 Titan Ships and $155,000 Destroyed in EVE Online Over a Missed Bill Payment

I'll never understand the appeal of EVE Online. These players spend months and tons of real-world money to build ships in the game, only to go to war and lose it all in an instant. We're talking about real, tangible cash here that these people are losing.

Such is the case today as the CFC and Russian Coalition took on Pandemic Legion and N3 over a missed bill payment. Seriously.
"Earlier today an alliance in the N3 coalition missed a bill payment for the system where Pandemic Legion is staging and storing their fleets," writes EVE. "This missed bill caused sovereignty to drop across the system leaving the station vulnerable

  • Update - Leaked Images Show Off Supposed Source Engine 2 Screenshot and Half-Life 3 Development

Update: These slides are allegedly from a presentation Valve gave three years ago in 2011. It stands to reason that what we see in these screenshots then are already implemented, at least in part, in the current iterations of the Source Engine. The same Source version that we see at work in games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Original: It seems as though there's been yet another leak from Valve over the past day. CBOAT from NeoGAF, got his hands on a presentation that shows off Source 2.0 in action. True, we don't know if these are legitimate or not, but CBOAT has been spot on with a number of his leaks and industry "rumors" for quite some time now. ...

Far Cry 4 is Probably in Development

This may be the least surprising news we're posting today but it seems as though Far Cry 4 is in development at Ubisoft Shanghai. A recent CV listing on LinkedIn shows that the studio is working on the "next" Far Cry game, which is presumed to be Far Cry 4.

Hell, maybe it's Blood Dragon 2, which would also be just as nice to see. According to VG247, this isn't the first mention of a new Far Cry game being in development.
