Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

New Final Fantasy VII Remake Teaser

Just watch it.

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

  • CastleMiner Z Hands-on Gameplay Preview - It's Totally Not a Minecraft Clone

A new game was released on Steam today called CastleMiner Z. I decided to take a look at it, having already resigned myself to the fact that there will be no shortage of games out there or coming out that try to take the Minecraft formula and make it their own.

Just remember, this isn't Minecraft. In no way is it a poorly done Minecraft clone. No sir....

Five Things Video Games Teach You About Love

I received this mail today in my work email and thought it was interesting enough to pass along to you guys. The article is by Liel Leibovitz, author of God in the Machine: Video Games as Spiritual Pursuit and it shows off "Five Things Video Games Teach You About Love."
    1. Your Princess May Be in Another Castle... ...but that doesn't mean you won't find her in the end. If you're single and watching with frustration as so many of your friends are settling down for long evening of cozying in front of the TV with their significant others, think of Mario. Not only is he short, mustachioed, and hopelessly devoid of any fashion sense, but time after time in the original game

  • Take-Two is Having a Super Great Year as Grand Theft Auto V Surpasses 32.5 Million Units Sold

The financial report for Take-Two's "Fiscal Third Quarter 2014" was released today. I won't bore you with the finer details. All you need to take away here is that Take-Two pulled in GAAP net revenues of $1.86 billion. That's compared to their previous quarter where they only pulled in $415.8 million.

So, why such a strong increase across the board? Well, Grand Theft Auto V had a huge hand in that, sure. There were, however, other big players for the company.

  • AMD Releases Catalyst 14.1 Beta Drivers with Mantle Support - Battlefield 4 Framerate Gains Benchmarked

At long last, those with recent ATI cards can finally experience the framerate benefits that the Mantle API brings to the table. We're talking about some fairly substantial framerate gains in some cases over DirectX 11.

First off, go pick up the AMD Catalyst 14.1 beta drivers and enable the Mantle API within the Battlefield 4 settings. It's recommended that you do a clean install of these drivers and not simply install over your old drivers. Installing over your old drivers with this release has been known to cause crashes and hangs.

While you're downloading check out some of these framerate benchmarks conducted...

The Wolf Among Us: Episode 2 Launches on February 4

Telltale's Twitter account revealed that the Xbox 360 version of the second episode for The Wolf Among Us will be released on February 5. The other versions, excluding iOS, will be released a day earlier on February 4.

The above trailer does contain some partial nudity. But I'm guessing that since this warning was posted after the video, it's a little too late for this warning. Oh well, it's a digital boob, deal with it....

Trove - Hands-on Gameplay Video from the Alpha

I recently got into the Trove alpha from Trion Worlds. It's got a look similar to Minecraft and Cube World but the gameplay is quite different from both.

The game is in a very, very early alpha stage of development. It has a long way to go as far as development is concerned, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it and provide updates if possible of any major changes.

You can sign up at the Trove website for your chance to get into the alpha or future beta....
