Review: Judgment (PS4)

The same, but different.

Sega, specifically the Yakuza team at Sega, are really damn good at what they do. The primarily Japanese developer has been on a roll with their stellar Yakuza-focused releases this generation that include Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2, and Yakuza 6. All of these titles have received high praise both from myself and from other media outlets these past few years.

It should then come as no surprise that the level of quality found in those titles does not take any sort of hit with the team's latest release, Judgment. Make no mistake about...

EA Attempts to Distance Themselves from 'Loot Boxes' by Calling them 'Surprise Mechanics'

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be a surprise mechanic.

EA and loot boxes, loot boxes and EA. In some people's minds, there is no better pairing save for "gamers" and "rising up." For the past several years now, the studio has been repeatedly under fire for how they included loot boxes in many of their titles. They have included loot box mechanics in games like Madden with their Madden Ultimate Team card packs, FIFA with the similar Ultimate Team mode, Battlefield 1, and perhaps most notably, Star Wars Battlefront 2.

In fact,...

Chivalry 2 Announced as Epic Games Store Timed Exclusive

Another Tripwire published title revealed as an EGS timed-exclusive.

Uncharted Writer Amy Hennig Departs Naughty Dog (Updated)

Update: Naughty Dog has responded to the allegations that Druckmann and Straley had anything to do with Hennig's departure.
Earlier this week we had to confirm the regrettable news that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. She will be missed and, as we stated before, we appreciate the significant contributions that she has made to Naughty Dog and the industry in general. We wish her the best. However, we feel it necessary to clear up a very important point that was unprofessionally misreported when the story broke. Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were NOT involved in what transpired. It was very upsetting to us that dozens of stories were run, linking back to the same hurtful acc

  • Wrong Version of South Park: The Stick of Truth was Sent to Germany, Includes Swastikas

Including imagery of the swastika in games or other media in Germany is considered a violation of federal law. That's why games that feature Germans in World War II have to be heavily edited prior to release in that region.

Unfortunately, it seems as though the wrong version was reproduced and sent to Germany that does not include censoring of a few scenes containing the swastika. Whoops!

Here's a translated excerpt from Gameswelt that details the issue.
How us an anonymous source has happened, seems the USK version of South Park: The staff come to be the truth uncut in the trade. Thus, not only the previously discussed contain scenes

The latest update for Battlefield 4 came out for the consoles today. Gamers on the PS3, PS4, 360, and Xbone get to enjoy a variety of tweaks, fixes, and a new rank cap of 120!

They also get to experience this.

Those images were posted by two different users and seems to be a new issue that was introduced in the latest patch. Also, the Killcam is broken for many players. It now sometimes doesn't display the killer's info at all, sometimes it shows the wrong info, other times it simply shows a teammate instead of the person who killed you. Many players are also reporting that their games are locking up or outright crashing between every map change and sometimes randomly in the middle of a round. There are no vehicles or parachute spawns in the Obliteration mode. Guns sometimes spawn a good 5+ seconds after your character spawns. These, plus other issues, wer...
