New GreedFall 'Companions' Trailer

This is one adventure you won't be making alone.

A new trailer was released today for Spiders upcoming RPG GreedFall. We last saw GreedFall only a short time back when we got a nice new gameplay overview trailer. Today, we're getting a look at some of the party members that will accompany you on your adventures.

These companions will have unique abilities, you can form relationships with them, and you'll get to experience their different stories.

Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Cyberpunk 2077 Announced for Google Stadia

A game about an obsession with power is coming to Google Stadia.

CD Projekt RED announced today that Cyberpunk 2077 is also coming to Stadia, the cloud-based gaming platform from Google. Stadia owners will get to experience a story set in the open-world location of Night City.     GameStop Closing 120 Traditional Stores as Focus Shifts to Mobile

    GameStop has announced their plans to close at least 120 of their 6,457 retail locations. Their new focus, one that CEO Paul Raines calls "GameStop 3.0," is on mobile gaming. The company plans to shift more of their focus on to mobile and Apple devices.   • Platform Exclusive Content for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is No Longer Exclusive

    Earlier today, Hideo Kojima revealed that the once exclusive content for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will soon no longer be exclusive. That is to say that the Deja Vu mission will make its way to Xbox platforms while the Jamais Vu mission comes to PlayStation.

    This swapping of content will begin on May 1 via a free title update. Though it's not quite apparent yet if this date is only for Japan or for all regions.

    Star Wars: The Old Republic's Galactic Strongholds Expansion Delayed

    BioWare has pushed the release of their Galactic Strongholds expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic by almost two months. Initially, subscriber early access was slated to begin on June 24 but has been pushed back to August 19. The deadline to earn rewards has moved from May 11 to July 15. The official, non-subscriber launch has moved from August to October.

    This information comes courtesy of a letter to the community from Senior Producer, Bruce Maclean. In the letter, he notes that while there is a delay for the expansion, the team will be rolling out another update this Summer prior to the expansion.

    Chaos Mode Added to Call of Duty: Ghosts

    A new "Chaos Mode" was added to the Extinction game type for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

    This mode is a straight forward mode where waves of enemies come at you in waves. Over time, players can increase their combo multiplier and earn more perks the longer they hold out and the better they perform. The update also includes two new perks for players: Juiced and Fast Health Regen.

    This is just one part of the rather lengthy update that was rolled out for the game today.
