Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Even...

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

Rust is Killing Linux Support; Devs Offer Refunds

Rust became a "cheater's sanctuary" on Linux.

On August 9, Rust developer Garry Newman wrote a blog talking about potential plans for the long neglected Linux client for their open-world survival game. In the blog, Newman talks about how he and the team could have done more to support the client, even if he says their support "might have been above average."

He goes on to say that the Linux version had "become more popular with the cheating community." However, even with performance and anti-cheat improvements coming soon to the Windows...

Halo Infinite Creative Director Leaves 343 Industries

Tim Longo says farewell to 343.

The creative director for Halo Infinite, Tim Longo, is no longer employed at 343 Industries. His departure comes just a few weeks after he had moved to a different role within the company a few weeks back. The details surrounding his move to that "new role" are quite scarce.

His departure from 343 also comes at a time where Halo Infinite is very deep in development. The game isn't slated to be released until late 2020, but it has been in development at the Microsoft owned studio for around four years at present. Halo Infinite's...

  • 10 More Rockstar Verified Jobs Added to GTA Online - Drift Paradise, Hipster Rage, and More

Holy Drift Mountain - created by Heavy Magic
This Lap Race for Sports cars takes us along a picturesque route from downtown Vinewood, through Vinewood Hills and back again. Ambient traffic is disabled by default so that you can really carve up the winding, high speed corners in search of perfect lines - just don't get too distracted by the stunning view on the way down. Before getting Verified, Holy Drift Mountain had been played nearly 6,000 times and its popularity is entirely justified.

Far Out LOOP - created by Pakelikea This technical road Race twists around the vineyards of Grapeseed and has Supercars as its default class. Several tight turns and hazards such as fa

  • YouTube to Get 60 FPS Option

YouTube to Get 60 FPS Option

YouTube will soon have the ability to display a higher framerate than most Xbox One games (ho ho, I WENT THERE!). They revealed earlier this evening that they will "soon" have 48 FPS and 60 FPS options for uploaders. They even went so far as to include a few sample videos that are apparently already running at 60 FPS. Unfortunately for everyone, it seems as though YouTube still insists at compressing the visual quality down just as much as before. So while the jump in framerate is certainly welcome, it doesn't really help when the overall quality still suffers greatly because of their re-encoding process. You can see the sample videos below, including the trailer for ...

  • Maxis Already Removing Core Features from The Sims 4 - Toddlers and Pools Are Gone

Maxis and EA have confirmed already that they are ripping out some features that have been a part of The Sims for quite some time from The Sims 4. These features include the "Toddler" life stage and swimming pools. No joke, these have been a part of the series since the first game.
"It's not possible for us to include every single feature and piece of content we added to The Sims 3 over the last five years," said Ryan Vaughan, a Maxis Producer.

Also of note is that teenagers will be the same height as adults in The Sims 4. They are also removing the Create-a-Style feature that was quite popular from The Sims 3.
    Some players are not
